Sorry for the lack of posts lately, everyone; I let the queue run out after #300 and haven’t created any graphics for the 27 submissions we have.
For sanity’s sake (NaNoWriMo, among other things taking my time this month), I’m going to put Little West Wing Things on hiatus until December.
Thanks for your patience, and we’ll be back in a few weeks. In the meantime, feel free to submit!
So, after five days of the new graphic template, what do you guys think? Vast improvement or worst idea ever?
For the first time since the creation of this blog, I’ve completely cleared out the contents of the ask and submit boxes. There’s no backlog taunting me. Which also means that in 35 days, we’ll hit another “whoops, the queue’s empty,” only this time it won’t be creator negligence (my bad, sorry about that).
Therefore I beseech all of you fine and wonderful Tumblr users to go forth and submit your favorite moment, detail, etc.
Apparently the queue has emptied itself without me noticing. I’ll spend some time this weekend working on the contents of the ask and submit boxes and will get things rolling again.
Sorry about that!
PS: Submit! :)
I’ve noticed that a lot of other blogs are experiencing some weirdness surrounding the submit function and other pages disappearing completely for no reason. I haven’t seen any of this on LWWT (every time it shows up on my dash, I frantically check to make sure things haven’t gone crazy), but if you guys have any problems with the site or the submit box, please drop a note in the ask ASAP.
Except it can’t have more than three periods, because apparently Tumblr won’t send messages if there are more than three periods involved in it.
There are thirteen other punctuation marks in the English language, though (twelve, I guess, since Tumblr probably considers ellipses to be “three periods” instead of a punctuation mark all its own), so I think we’ll be okay. Anyone want to name them? :)
For sanity, we’re gonna move to using the Submit option rather than the Ask option. Submit allows for tags to be built into the submission and a post is automatically created and just hangs there waiting for me to come along and add a photo and knock it to the queue.
That said, tags are super important. When submitting, you must click on the appropriate tags. If your post is not tagged at all, the likelihood of me doing anything about it is really slim. I love that you guys are coming up with all of these submissions, but I can’t always instantly pinpoint the season/character who was involved (I don’t yet have the series committed to memory); this usually means some serious Googling is necessary, and I don’t really have the time to do that for every single submission.
The Ask is still open, and I’ll keep working on clearing out all of the suggestions that are in there, but from now on please use the Submit option if you have something to submit.
